Spark Excellence started as a dream and became a reality thanks for the encouragement and support of a trusted mentor, Jane Taylor. Having my own business allows me to work on a variety of issues that I care about while getting to support many wonderful individuals and teams. I am a lifelong learner, and I am especially grateful for the emotional labor of LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC collaborators who have helped expand my ability to practice cultural humility and allyship while deepening my understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, belonging, and anti-racism. I love what I do, and it is a privilege to be a part of each organization's journey.
In my personal time, I try to keep up with my three young boys. We love to shoot baskets or throw a football outside, play a game of Bug Bingo or Candyland, read books about animals and dinosaurs, and have family movie nights. Our favorites are those with songs we can sing and dance to, like Vivo and Zombies 3. When I'm kid-free, you can find me traveling, lost in a book (The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a favorite), watching a TV show (This Is Us was my go-to), or having dinner with a friend.
